SWAG视频 Me
I am an assistant professor of occupational therapy (OT) and program coordinator of the satellite program in Fargo. I love working with students to find their passion and guide them on the path of becoming an OT. I particularly enjoy collaborating with students and colleagues in interprofessional learning events.
Why I鈥檓 At MaryI love working at University of Mary, where service is encouraged and innovation is supported. I transitioned from public education to higher education three-and-a-half years ago because I desire to pass on the knowledge I have gained as an occupational therapist (OT) and support students on their educational journey. With the support of administration, I am encouraged to extend hospitality and service to the community. The OT program allows me to provide meaningful learning opportunities for students to collaborate with community agencies and interprofessional partners.
Expertise
I am a registered occupational therapist (OTR) with 35+ years of experience working with individuals of all ages and abilities. I am licensed to practice OT in North Dakota and Minnesota, and I also hold special education licensure in developmental/cognitive disabilities and physical/health disabilities. In addition, I am certified as an assistive technology professional (ATP) and continue to provide OT/AT services for individuals in the Fargo/Moorhead community through my private practice, AIM Therapy. My research interests include physical activity for children, employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities, and assistive technology for all. I have presented locally, regionally, and nationally on topics about occupational therapy, assistive technology, hippotherapy, and special education.
