SWAG视频 Me
I鈥檝e been married to my husband for over 40 years, and together, we have two wonderful children. We also share our home with Maggie, our Golden Retriever, who is a certified therapy dog. Maggie and I love visiting students and experiencing the energy and excitement they bring. In the summer, my husband and I enjoy spending time camping and fishing and just enjoying the outdoors.
Why I鈥檓 At MaryAt the University of Mary, I find that the University mission aligns closely with my own teaching philosophy. I鈥檓 passionate about creating a learning environment where each student feels valued, supported, and part of a caring community. The University鈥檚 Benedictine values, including those of community, hospitality, and respect for the dignity of each person, inspire me every day. These values closely align with my nursing background, as I believe that caring is at the heart of everything I do. My goal is to create an online environment where students feel valued, even at a distance, and encouraged to grow both personally and professionally.
Expertise
I have been a nurse for over 40 years, working in various ICU settings, including Neuro-Medical, Cardiac, Surgical/Trauma, and general ICU. I鈥檝e always had a special interest in cardiac care and spent 15 years in Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab. SWAG视频 20 years ago, I shifted from focusing on patient education to taking on a nurse educator role. I鈥檝e had the rewarding experience of working closely with students, supporting them as they navigate their educational path, and helping them build the skills they need to succeed in nursing.
