SWAG视频 Me

Before Mary, I studied philosophy in California, where I was born, and in Texas at the University of Dallas. I am now honored and humbled to be able to share my love for philosophy with students and colleagues at the University of Mary. I strive to make philosophy for others what it has always meant for me: one of the deepest and most important undertakings of the human spirit which can orient, elevate, and invigorate our lives and reveal the truth, goodness, and overwhelming beauty in our so-often disenchanted world.

I also serve as a mentor for the Gregorian Honors Program.

Why I鈥檓 At Mary

I count myself immeasurably blessed to be a part of the University of Mary because of the authenticity of its people, the genuine friendship that binds our community together, the nobility and beauty of our common vision, and the vigorousness with which we strive to infuse everything we do with that vision.

Expertise

My research is centered on personalism, synthesizing the insights of our ancient, medieval, and modern philosophical patrimony toward the contemplation of what it means to be persons, human, and divine. My dissertation probes the personalism of Robert Spaemann. I have broad interests in metaphysics, ethics, aesthetics, the perennial philosophy (of Plato, Aristotle, Augustine, and Aquinas), idealism, phenomenology, and existentialism.
