BISMARCK, ND — University of Mary’s Master of Science in Nursing/Master of Business Administration (MSN/MBA) dual degree program in healthcare administration is one of the top online programs of its kind in America, according to EDsmart, a nationally recognized publisher of college resources and independent rankings. The research firm ranked University of Mary’s Master’s in Healthcare Administration (MHA) 26th overall among hundreds of colleges and universities nationwide.

EDsmart cited University of Mary’s MHA program in its recently released 2020 edition of the Best Online MHA Degree Programs to help prospective students and their families research the top online programs in the country.

“It is important to recognize the colleges and universities that go above and beyond,” said Tyson Stevens, managing editor of EDsmart. “Our goal is to highlight these schools and their commitment to higher education.”

The private Catholic university located in Bismarck offers its accredited (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) dual degree program in healthcare administration to healthcare professionals that already possess a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). The curriculum is designed to develop competency in analysis and management of clinical problems; financial management; and organizational leadership. Additionally, as part of its Christian, Catholic, and Benedictine heritage and teaching, students gain appreciation for important ethical practices; health-related policies and regulations; research methodologies and data analysis; domestic and global issues involving healthcare; and more.

“The Best Online MHA Degree Programs ranking allows students to compare accredited programs and find those that best fit their education interest and career goals,” said EDsmart’s spokesperson. “Beyond providing affordable education, a college is not successful if it does not graduate its students, which is why EDsmart rankings place a high value on outcomes, including graduation rate and retention rates, and post-graduation earnings.”

The University of Mary scored very favorably in cost, as it continues to be one of the nation’s most affordable universities, and garnered high marks for retention, graduation rate, and return on investment (ROI).

The length of the University of Mary program is 2.5 years and is offered online.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment prospects for healthcare managers and administrators will grow by 22 percent in the next 10 years, and a median pay of $84,200 in 2010, with the top 10 percent earning an impressive $144,880. Some of the career paths include, nurse administrator, chief nursing officer (CNO), hospital executive, clinic executive, and government healthcare agency administrator.
